Argentina have won three of the five meetings between the teams this decade, including the most recent contest, which saw them prevail 33-24 at Murrayfield last November. Scotland were 14-0 up at half-time on that occasion and extended that lead to 21-0 in the second half, but the Pumas fought back to claim a famous comeback victory.

The South Americans caused an upset in the last round, providing a defensive masterclass to edge past Germany in a dramatic penalty shootout, following a 1-1 draw.
